The Innovative Digital Education Alliance (IDEA) awarded Casey Hulbert, Bancroft, Michigan a $1,000 VanNahmen Student Excellence Award for use towards their master’s degree in youth development from Michigan State University.
The IDEA Cabinet grants the awards following a review of students’ academic and professional goals. Hulbert is one of five students to receive the scholarship this year, which was awarded on July 1.
To qualify, Hulbert needed to be attaining a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or certificate in an IDEA degree program from an IDEA member university. Michigan State University is Hulbert’s home university, though their coursework could come from any of the six universities collaborating in the youth development program.
Nineteen accredited universities are members of IDEA, a solution to quality online degrees since 2000. In various combinations, universities together offer nine human sciences and nine agriculture programs online.
The VanNahmen Student Excellence Award is named in honor of former IDEA Executive Director, Carol (Gould) VanNahmen. VanNahmen made a tremendous impact on the alliance and students over her 15-year tenure at IDEA, which will continue through this award.
