In the News 

MSU Child Development Laboratories hosted the Early Childhood Investment Corporation and Michigan legislative staff for a tour of a high-quality childhood education facility 

Dr. Emilie Smith featured as the MSU College of Social Science Access Champion. 

Publications 

Dr. Deborah Johnson published "Decolonizing Schooling: Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers as Cultural Leaders in Australian Education," in Diaspora, Indigenous, and Minority Education. 

Drs. Kendal Holtrop, Cait Edwards, and Andrea Wittenborn published "Using Theater Testing to Inform Community‐Engaged Cultural Adaptation in Couple and Family Therapy Research," in the Journal of Martial and Family Therapy. 

Dr. Emilie Smith served on a team that published the National Academies Consensus Report on the Future of Youth Development.  

 

Dr. Sarah Douglas and graduate students Chandani Bhandari, PJ Pfeiffer and Subir Biswas published, “You Can’t Always See What’s Going On”: A Qualitative Exploration of Educators’ Perceptions Supporting Children’s Social Engagement” in the Early Childhood Education Journal.  

 

Dr. Sarah Douglas and graduate student Ayesha Rehman published, “Facilitating Development During Pretend Play for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder,” in Young Exceptional Children. 

Alumni Updates 

Dr. Daniel F. Perkins, MSU HDFS doctoral alumnus, was named distinguished professor at Penn State.
