Biography

My name is Luci Davila (she/her/hers) and I am a doctoral student in the college of Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Child Development. I work with Dr. Lori Skibbe in the Early Language and Literacy Investigations (ELLI) Lab and am also a member of the Cultivating Hearts and minds on Infants and toddlers’ Learning and Development (CHILD) Lab. I study early childhood educators ... to understand how to best support them as they work with the children in their classrooms. I’m especially interested in how to tailor professional development so that it promotes children’s language, literacy, and social-emotional growth. I hold a MS in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Alabama and have worked in early educational settings for over a decade.
