Debra Miller joined the faculty in 2020. She currently holds the position of Director of the Couple and Family Therapy Clinic. She is a licensed social worker with over 20 years of experience implementing evidence-based practices for diverse families in community health settings. Her career has centered on improving childhood outcomes through prevention and intervention practices that support family systems. Debra received extensive post-graduate training in Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT)®, a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Model Program, and holds a faculty appointment with the Family Therapy Training Institute of Miami for BSFT training and implementation support. Committed to addressing the unique needs of underserved communities through community engaged research strategies, Debra was recently named a dissertation completion fellow through the Minority Fellowship Program of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition, her work with community mental health providers has received a commendation award from University Outreach and Engagement. She is active with the MSU Trauma Services and Training Network Learning Collaborative as a steering team member.
