Bio

Sylvia Lin’s research interests center around ethnic identity development, particularly within the Asian and Asian American population, and how neighborhood and community contexts influence identity development processes. She is also interested in how those two factors jointly affect mental health outcomes. Sylvia is involved in a project that seeks to understand how daily peer racial/ethnic interactions operates as a source of stress or support and influences adolescent outcomes (e.g., racial/ethnic identity, school engagement, school belonging, among others).
