My name is Emily Jensen (she/they) and I am a doctoral student in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Child Development. My advisor is Dr. Sarah Douglas. My research interests surround supporting children with special healthcare needs and their families in medical settings. These interests have led me to research the experiences of both medical professionals and caregivers supporting this population. My most recent project is a mixed-methods study exploring the experiences of caregivers of children with medical complexities. My research draws on various developmental theories, family systems and family stress theories, and a desire to create inclusive and healing spaces for all children.
