Dr. Heather McCauley, Assistant Professor in HDFS, published an essay in MSUToday on the importance of engaging leaders in violence prevention. Her work with athletic coaches and other key groups has found that leaders can be critical voices in their community, challenging the normalization of sexual violence in our culture and modeling prosocial behavior for the next generation. Her research and practice at MSU has focused on national discourse related to sexual violence and state-wide sexual violence prevention efforts. She also serves as chair of the MSU Sexual Violence Advisory Committee. In MSUToday, she asks leaders to address power and inequity to create respectful, diverse and inclusive climates for all.
