Message from the Undergraduate Director

Welcome Back!
I am very excited to welcome all of our new and returning students! We are embarking on a new semester and opportunity to learn and grow individually and as a collective. I am very much looking forward to a great semester and another chance to meet with you and get to know each of you!
This summer there have been many positive and innovative changes in the Undergraduate Affairs Office, such as the creation of the undergraduate newsletter and Wall of Fame. Last year, the Undergraduate Education Committee in partnership with our office conducted a program assessment project. One of the main aims of this project was to hear from YOU our students; what are we doing well and where can we make improvements. The results of this yearlong project have encouraged us and informed our transformation efforts. Our team took this feedback and has been working hard to respond. Our sincere hope is that these changes increase the quality and effectiveness of our undergraduate degree programs.
In the coming semester you will hopefully see and feel these efforts. For example, we will be sending out this newsletter bi-weekly to stay up-to-date and connected to one another, we will be regularly featuring the awesome work of YOU our undergraduates on the Wall of Fame, highlighting the work of our successful alumni, and providing regular announcements and helpful resources in our office lobby. Our goals are to continue to foster a close knit HDFS undergraduate community, promote opportunities for professional development, and provide high quality education and services.
Throughout the semester we want to hear from YOU! How can we better meet your needs as an undergraduate student? What innovations would you like to see in our program? If you have feedback—thoughts, questions, critiques—please utilize our new comment box. we will check this periodically and do our best to respond. For a chance to be featured on our Wall of Fame and to keep us posted on your accomplishments please complete the following survey.
Have a great week and a great start to the semester, Go Green!
