Lead the department’s community of faculty and staff in the implementation of excellence in research, teaching, and outreach. Facilitate grant-seeking, entrepreneurial and fundraising activities and foster a research culture within the department. Budget administration and management, faculty mentoring and evaluation, and oversight of the unit’s two community-based Child Development Laboratory Schools. Administer degree programming for 700 students (600 undergraduate students, 100 graduate students). Serve as the voice and advocate for the department at the college and university levels. Foster collaboration within the department, and between the department and college, university, and external systems, including funding agencies, private foundations, and community organizations. Chair the university’s Sexual Violence Advisory Committee, along with proposal review panels at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institute of Justice.
